Peace Proms 2017 The children travelled to Belfast yesterday to take part in the Peace Proms. The children had been working hard since the start of the year in preparation for this event. It was an incredible day and one that the children and teachers will remember forever. A special thank you to Melissa who spent so much time teaching the children the songs and dance moves.

Friday 17th February Today Mrs McGrath, Trisha, Bernie, Melissa and some very lucky children attended the open training session of the Irish Rugby team in Rafeenan. This was a wonderful experience for all and they even managed to meet some famous rugby players and get their photo taken with them.
Friday 10th February This morning we all took part in 10@10. This was an idea generated by Operation Transformation to get primary school children moving. We all stopped what we were doing and completed ten minutes of exercise at ten o clock. The children really enjoyed it and it’s something we will continue to do on a regular basis.

On Tuesday October 18th Junior and Senior Infants went to visit the library in Monaghan. When we got to the library we had a storytelling session. The children all sat down on a mat and listened while the librarian read a lovely story about sailing. After the story the children were given pieces of tinfoil and asked to make boats using only their tinfoil. They then put them into water to see if they would float. Coins were added and counted to see which boats were the best. The children really enjoyed this activity. Next the children did some colouring and everyone coloured in their pictures very neatly. They listened to one last story and then got the bus back to school. We took lots of pictures to show you what the Infants got up to!
